August 4th, 2012 - After countless victories at El Paso County Speedway and with the Colorado 1200 Outlaws Nic Sutton claims his first RMLSA victory. Taking the last year and a half off didn't affect Nic as he picked up the victory in just his second start of the year with the RMLSA. Starting outside the fourth row and a great battle with points leader Brent Rees gets what I belive to be his first Non-Wing victory as well. Sutton was followed acroos the line by Brent Rees and after a vicious crash last week in Lamar both Troy Simpson and Paul Babich came back strong to run 3rd and fourth. In his season high finish Glenn Waterland came home in 5th. Sixteen cars made the trip to I-76 Speedway and Butch prepared a nice track. Thanks to all the fans who showed up for Fan Appreciation, without you we would not be able to bring you great Lightning Sprint Racing!! The complete results are as follows. Heat 1 - Auston Pribbenow, Troy Simpson, Jeff Gieg, Glenn Waterland, Mke Snelling, Bill Rousch, Tim Snelling and Scott Heikes. Scott got upside down and was done for the night but was OK thankfully! Heat 2 - Brent Rees, Nic Sutton, Paul Babich, Jeremiah Curtis, Steve Becker, Scott Wilson, Shane Stanley and Rick Marchbank. Main Event - 1) #15 Nic Sutton - Arvada, 2) #87 Brent Rees - Arvada, 3) #56 Troy Simpson - Windsor, 4) #69 Paul Babich - Fort Collins, 5) #11 Glenn Waterland - Brighton, 6) #14 Jeremiah Curtis - Evergreen, 7) #31 Steve Becker - Lakewood, 8) #7 Scott Wilson - Thornton, 9) #18 Jeff Gieg - Johnstown, 10) #71A Auston Pribbenow - Elizabeth, 11) #24F Tim Snelling - Peyton, 12) #96 Shane Stanley - Centennial, 13) #39 - Mike Snelling - Peyton, 14) #97 Bill Rousch - Morrison DNF. DNS #3 Rick Marchbank - Colorado Springs, #30 Scott Heikes - Colorado Springs. After a tough Summer stretch the RMLSA will take a week off before returning to I-76 Speedway on Saturday August 18th for the final winged event of the season. Don't miss the action!! |
