Night one at Garden City Kansas' Airport raceway saw 18 cars running USAC Winged Lightning Sprints. Heat Races were won by #3J Joel Mellon, #71 Frank Martinez, and #31 Steve Becker. Rain ended our night, but we ran the feature on Sunday evening. The Feature race saw the Yamaha powered Fab Tech chassis #9F of Andy Flood pick up his first RMLSA USAC Win!!! The top three included teh GSXR Powered hyper chassis #2 Blaine Schubarth and the Yamaha powered Fab tech chassis #24B of Johnny Boos. Rounding out the top 5 was the #56 Of Jason Wessling and the #26 of Chris Crowder.

USAC race night #2 was a great night of racing with 21 cars in attendance. Heat races were won by the #9F of Andy Flood, the #24B of Johnny Boos, and the #01 of Troy Ullery. The feature lined up on a dry slick track with the #71 of Frank Martinez in the lead. The #2 of Blaine Schubarth later led. Several cautions bunched up the field, with the #01 of Ullery taking the lead with two to go. The top three was rounded out by the #2 of Schbarth, and the #71 of Martinez. Fourth place was a career best finish for the #9 of Dylan Riggs with the #31 of Steve Becker rounding out the top five. The balance of the field was the #24 of johnny Boos,#3 of Rick Marchbank, #9F Andy Flood, #17 Dave McCray, #61 Jesse Fernandez #20 Dale Johnston, #23 Cullen Potoker, #10 ken Brown, #25 Mike Rotramel, #13 Josiah king, #56 Jason Wessling, #15 Rookie Danny Estep, #3J of Joel Mellon, #2Z John frazier, #8 Rookie Julie Mills, #17L of Deneen Leturgez. Next week we take the wings off and race at I76 Speedway in Fort Morgan, CO.

It was snowing at the track at 1PM the day of the races, but 17 cars made the trip to start off the 2017 racing Season, and the first USAC Sanctioned Lightning Sprint Race in Colorado, and it was an eventful night. Heat races were won by the #01 of Troy Ullery and the #2 of Blaine Schubarth. The feature race lined up as heat races finished with Ullery and Schubarth on the front row. Ullery took the lead followed by Schubarth and Andy Flood. Several laps later, the #2 of Schubarth flipped wildly in turn 3 ending his night. The driver was OK. In the back of the field, the #3J of Joel Mellon, the #24B of Johnny Boos, and the #17 of Dave McCray making their way to the front. By mid race, the 3J had taken over the #3 spot, with the #17 and #24B moving up fast. At lap 14 the #17 and the #3J made contact sending the #3J machine flipping multiple times in turn 3 . The driver was OK , but his night was done. When the clay settled, the Ullery #01 led the field to the checkered followed by the #17 McCray, the #24 Boos, the #9F Flood and the #31 driven by Steve Becker. Rounding out the field was the #56 of Jason Wessling, the #57 Andrew Daniels, the #3 Rick Marchbank, the #13 Josiah King, #8 Rookie Vickie Mills, #3J Mellon, #9 Dylan Riggs, #2 Schubarth, #71 Frank Martinez, #2Z John Frasier.
