Johnny Boos wins his first at El Paso County

16 Lightning Sprints made the trip back to El Paso County Raceway after a few weeks off. Mother Nature rained out the heat races, but the track crew and racers packed in a bad fast smooth racetrack . Since there was no qualifying and no heat races, the feature was lined up by pill draw. #31 Steve Becker led the first couple laps, then #24B Johnny Boos took the lead and never looked back. Jason Woods in the #82 took over second on lap 7 trying to run down Boos, followed by Becker, #39X Dakota Dillin and #7 Josh Flood. Lap 13 saw the first red as Becker ran over the infield berm running into the #33 car of Gayle Ingram causing him to flip several times. Both drivers were OK but unable to continue. A lap after that red another red flew for second place #82 Jason Woods flipped in turn one. He was okay and able to join the rear of the field with a bent up wing. #26 Chris Crowder drove from the eleventh spot to try to run down the leader Boos. When the checkered flew it was #24B Boos, #26 Crowder, #39x Dillin, #7 Flood, #86 Jenn Woods, #3J Joel Mellon, #1 Troy Ullery, #82 Jason Woods, #9F Andy Flood, #32 Blair Cooper, #13 Josiah King, #0 BJ Sauer, #23 Cullen Potoker, #10 Ken Brown, #31 Steve Becker and #33 Gayle Ingram.
