Brandon Steele wins the Al Wilson Memorial Race at El Paso County Raceway!! Brandon Steele wins with the #50 Jason Woods hot on his tail. #1 Troy Ullery finishes third, with #2 Blaine Schubarth and #31 Steve Becker rounds out the top 5!! Brandon takes home $777 for the win. Thanks to our Friends of Al Wilson who donated the extra funds to the large purse.

The RMLSA headed to the 1/4 mile El Paso County Raceway for a marathon racing weekend of three race nights in less then 26 hours. 23 cars raced each night , and great racing was had. On Saturday the RMLSA raced USAC sanctioned Winged cars. Heat races were won by the 24B Johnny Boos, #2Z Matt Martinez and #17 Dave McCray. The Winged feature was won by the #17 McCray. Up first on Sunday was the Al Wilson Memorial Race honoring our good friend the late Al Wilson. The heats (raced last month) were won by the #2 Shubarth, #1 Troy Ullery and #17 McCray. This non winged Feature race was won by #5 Brandon Steele. The evening races were winged USAC Races. The heats were won by the #25 Mike Rotramel, #1 Troy Ullery and #2 Schubarth. The feature was won by the #2 of Blaine Schubarth.

20 Non Winged Lightning Sprint teams made the first trip to I76 Speedway for this season. A beautiful evening and the best track we have seen so far in 2017 made for some great non Wing racing. Heat races were won by #61 Jesse Fernandez, #2 Blaine Schubarth and #5 Brandon Steele. The feature was an exciting one with several mishaps. When the dust cleared the #2 Schubarth Hyper was the winner from the 11th starting spot. Following him to the checkers was the #25 Mike Rotramel and the #24B of Johnny Boos. the top five included the #71 of Frank Martinez and teh #0 of BJ Sauer. The rest of the field was rounded out by the #31 Steve Becker, #7 Josh Flood, #23 Cullen Potoker, #56 jason Wessling, #13 Josiah King, #15E Rookie Danny Estep, #1 Troy Ullery, #60 Gary Helken, #17 Dave McCray, #61 Jesse fernandez, #1CO Rookie Haley Waterland, #2Z John Frasier, #5 Brando Steele, #8 Rookie Vicky Mills, and #3 Rick Marchbank.
