Race #5 - Shubarth wins again at EPCR

21 cars - great racing

21 Cars checked in and raced at race #5 of the 2016 RMLSA Season , at El Paso County Raceway. Heat races were won by the 11C of Glenn Waterland, The #3 of Rick Marchbank and the ?#?24B? of Johnny Boos. All 21 cars took the green for a 21 lap race (in respect for the injured car #21 of Michael Bennett). A very dry slick track proved a challenge for all the drivers. The #3 of rick Marchbank took the lead for several laps. The 1T of Troy Ullery took over the top spot after a few laps. Ullery spun and was hit by the #2 of Blaine Shubarth. flipping Ullery. He was unhurt, but could not continue. Race resumed after the red flag with the #2 passing the #29 of Skyler Wissman. Shubarth went on to win, followed by the #31 of Steve Becker, The #29 of Skyler Wissman, , the #24B of Johnny Boos and rounding out the top 5 was the 11C of points leader Glenn Waterland.

The RMLSA has 2 weeks off. Racing resumes Friday and Saturday with a huge 2 day winged show with additional purse in Dodge City Kansas at Dodge City Raceway racing on the same awesome 3/8 mile tracksupporting the huge show with the NCRA Winged 360 Sprint cars, the URSS Winged 305 Sprint Cars. It will be lots of wings and lots of great racing on the long 4th of July Weekend.

Michael Bennett GoFundMe

Last night during the RMLSA feature race at I-76 Speedway, Michael Bennett was involved in a very serious single car crash at I-76 speedway.

2016 Race night #4 winner - Glenn Waterland

After what felt like the first day of Summer and a great fan appreciation night Glenn Waterland in the 11c top the victory at I-76 Speedway in Fort Morgan.
The race was punctuated by a long red flag period as track crews and medical staff worked to extract Michael Bennett from his car after a bad flip.
Blaine Schubarth continued his impressive form with another podium visit and Scott Heikes made it a great start to his season by taking third place on his first night of the year.
There were great battles all the way down the field with Scott Wilson and Dave McCray rounding out the top five.
