Season ends with Doubleheader at I76

The RMLSA Lightning Sprints finished of an 18 race season with a doubleheader at the Fall Classic at I76 Speedway in Fort Morgan , CO. This weekend.
14 cars participating each night ona smooth fast track and cold fall weather.
Both nights were filled with incredible clean racing and almost no yellow flags and lots of happy racers , families and friends.
Friday 10/7
Heat races were won by #13 Josiah King and #26 Chris Crowder.
The feature was a great race with no cautions and saw #24B Johnny Boos and #26 Chris Crowder lap much of the field. The two of them weaving thru lapped traffic on the tacky fast track was incredible. When the checkered flag flew, the #24B Johnny Boos took the win, with #26 Chris Crowder finishing second and #27 Weston Olson for Minnesota rounding out the top three. #1 Troy Ullery and #13 Josiah King rounding out the top 5.

Saturday the sun came out, it wakes up some, and the action was hot!
Again 14 cars competing for the last race of the year.
Saturday heat races were won by #13 Josiah King and #24B Johnny Boos.
The feature lineup put those heat winners in row three.
#9F Andy Flood took the lead with #13 Josiah King, #24B Johnny Boos, and #26 Chris Crowder all close behind. King eventually passed Flood for the lead, but a caution negated that pass. After the racing resumed, the battle between those 4 cars was epic. When the dust settled #24B Johnny Boos took the lead , but #26 wouldn’t let up running the top of the track and tracked him down with two to go with Crowder taking the win.
The 2022 RMLSA Championship was decided with #24 B Johnny Boos winning the championship for the second year in a row.
Congratulations to all the racers, crews, and families that made 2022 a great season.
The RMLSA Awards banquet will be held in November at a date and venue to be determined soon.
The RMLSA membership meeting will flow in December at a date and venue to be determined.

Boos makes it 7 in a row

RMLSA raced the last race at El Paso County Raceay on a beautiful fall evening.

The final two races of the 2022 racing season will be October 7th and 8th at I76 Speedway in Fort Morgan, CO. Fridays races start at 6pm, Saturdays races start at 5pm.

Boos wins at El Paso

The RMLSA Lightning Sprints went to El Paso County Raceway on a cold fall evening to see a bad fast track.
Heat races were won by #7 Josh Flood and #21B BJ Sauer.
The feature was rained out, but run on September 24th.
